December 14 is World Monkey Day. A report by the Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting reveals that British trophy hunters are among the world’s most notorious monkey hunters, shooting several different species of primate for ‘sport’.
A number of British companies are currently selling monkey hunting ‘holidays’. Take Aim Safaris, owned by Surrey businessman and trophy hunter Carl Knight, sells Vervet monkeys to shoot for as little as £55.
The Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting is calling on the UK Government to ban British-owned companies such as Take Aim Safaris from promoting and selling these holidays to trophy hunters.
