The vast majority of Africans are opposed to trophy hunting. In South Africa, 7 out of 10 people want trophy hunting banned (source: IPSOS). In Zimbabwe, the money promised by the hunting industry fails to reach local communities (source: APPG).  In Namibia, wildlife populations in hunting areas have crashed by 2/3rds over the past 10 years (source: NACSO). In Tanzania, the Maasai are being violently evicted from ancestral lands to make way for exclusive hunting estates (source: Maasai Senior Elders).

A new report from the Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting explores how trophy hunting is seen as a cruel, colonial hang-over that fails to bring benefits to local people and devastates wildlife.
