The Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting team visited the Labour HQ on the day of their Manifesto meeting to push for the Imports of Trophy Hunting to be added into their manifesto.
This issue is not only a matter of animal welfare but also one of conservation, biodiversity, and ethical responsibility. By making a firm manifesto commitment to ban hunting trophies, the new government will be taking a stand against cruelty and helping to protect endangered species from extinction.
CBTH Ambassador Sir Ranulph Fiennes recently wrote to election candidates asking for their views on trophy hunting, with responses confirming that Labour are in support of the ban, including:
“I’m pleased to confirm that a Labour government will ban the import of animal parts from trophy hunting”
“I have supported the ban in Parliament for some time and will continue to do so.”
“Please be assured that if elected I will support the banning of trophy hunters bringing home the animals they have killed in the name of sport.”
“I have always found this “sport” utterly abhorrent, so I was very pleased to see Labours pledge this week to ban it under a new Labour government.”
“I have long supported a ban on trophy hunting and the import of hunting trophies into the UK. I have long called on the Government to implement such a ban.”
