While Cecil was shot on 1st July 2015 – death was not instant and it wasn’t until the next day he took his last breath, 9 years ago today, on 2nd July 2015.
While his suffering lasted over 24 hours, a small mercy is that his death had a significant impact on wildlife conservation efforts worldwide – an impact that is still being felt today.Â
